Stuart Turbyfill
CEO/Media/Public Relations

Maxwell Morrill
Co-Director/Course Instructor/Trip Leader

Originally from the East Coast, Maxwell's introduction to backcountry snowboarding began in 1986, before "ski" areas acknowledged snowboarding - hiking the back hills of Maine and the White Mountains of New Hampshire is where it all began.

In 1993, Maxwell made Utah (Wasatch Mountains) his home base. One of the original Voile pioneers, Maxwell has been at the forefront of splitboarding since 1995. He has been involved with splitboard equipment development, Avalanche education and the soul of splitboarding for over 2 decades.

In his 23 years of splitboarding, he has dozens of first descents. He founded the first avalanche education course for snowboarders in North America. His riding has been featured in National Geographic, Transworld Snowboarding, Couloir Magazine, Backcounty Magazine, many local publications and Fox News. His continued influence shapes the sport.
Born and raised in Utah, Stuart has been snowboarding throughout the Wasatch since a kid. He began splitboarding in 2013. After the unique feeling of earning turns, he saught out to find more people, more info, just more everything splitboarding. Quickly finding out how hard it was to meet fellow splitboarders, Stuart created Wasatch Splitters with intention to help others in the same postion he was in, wanting to find more.

Staying  dedicated to the Wasatch Splitters community  and true to the sport, he is also a busy family man.  With a wife, 1 kid and 1 on the way,  time is not an abundance for him. If he isnt working on Wasatch Splitters or enjoying his family, you know he is out earning  his turns with a smile on his face.
